Lens Iconfrequent questions

This section pertains most directly to our roll as Wedding Photographers.  If you have specific questions regarding other photographic endeavors – past, present or future – please feel free to contact the studio directly at:  studio(at)flintweddings.com -or- click on the ‘connect’ link above.

Q:  Do you shoot film or digital?
A:  We shoot 100% digital photography.

Q:  What is your shooting style?
A:  Candid Artistic Curiosity. This organic style is a delicate blend of excitement, joy, wonder, respect and professionalism.  Photographically, it fuses architectural, landscape, portrait, fashion, product, lifestyle, photojournalism and editorial.

Q:  Are you willing to travel to my destination wedding?
A:  Absolutely.  We are experienced destination wedding photographers with current passports and a hankering for adventure.  We are available for assignment the world over…

Q:  What type of equipment do you use?
A:  We use all professional grade Canon equipment…which include pro-grade camera bodies, L-Glass Lenses and light kits from various high-end manufacturers including Alien Bees, Pocket Wizard, Bogen, Westcott and more.

Q:  Are you insured?
A:  Yes, we have $2M liability insurance policy in place with The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.

Q:  For how long have you been photographing weddings?
A:  2010 marks our 5th year of providing artistic services in the Wedding Photography Industry :)

Q:  I see that you have two photographers listed for every Experience.  Will Tomas be one of those two photographers?
A:  Yes, Tomas personally shoots every wedding that we commission.  Aside from quality control and emotional investment, this is a major reason why we do NOT double book weekends.  Tomas works directly with every couple who commissions the services of Tomas Flint Weddings.

Q:  Are you a member of any photographic groups/organizations?
A:  Yes, we are members in good standing with the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ispwp.com), The Professional Photographers of America (ppa.com) and the Weddings and Portrait Photographers International (wppionline.com).  Additionally we are charter members of the prestigious Best of Wedding Photography Directory (bestofweddingphotography.com), an invite-only collaboration of the World’s finest.

Q:  Do you shoot in black & white?
A:  We capture all of our images in full color.  Because they are digital files, they can easily be converted to any tone desirable, which include black & white and sepia tone.

Q:  Do you have any client references who will be willing to discuss their experience with Flint Weddings?
A:  We certainly do!  Instead of having a set list of references, we are happy to supply you with the names and contact information of our 3 most recent couples.  This approach is in line with our belief that you are only as successful as your last client is satisfied.  Connect with the studio to obtain a list.

Q:  Who is the second photographer you include in your experiences?
A:  This depends on location and availability.  We have a solid network of professional wedding photographers whom we work and train with on a regular basis.  You will be made aware of who the second photographer is prior to your event and will have the opportunity to review his or her portfolio.

Q:  What are your package prices?
A:  We do not offer packages, but experiences coupled with an a la carte menu of fabulous product suitable for virtually every desire.  Commissions begin at $3,950.  For more information, visit our ‘connect’ section and fill out the contact form or email us directly at: studio(at)flintweddings.com.  Our studio manager is always happy to help!

Q:  Do you edit your images?
A:  Think of every image in three stages:
1.  Capture.
2.  Edit.
3.  Master/Fine Art.
The capture stage is what comes directly out of camera.  This is where our work begins.  From there images are sorted and brought to stage 2.  In the editing stage, we hand-edit each individual image to optimal exposure, contrast and color balance.  Once optimized, the images are presented to you in a private online gallery and are suitable for print.  The final stage, mastering, is performed on those extra special images that will be showcased in exclusively commissioned projects.
Stages 1 and 2 are included in all experiences.  Stage 3 is available on a commission basis.

Q:  Do you present the edited images as part of the initial proofing?
A:  We certainly do!  Every image presented on your online gallery (and ultimately, your DVD) is hand-edited and ready for print.  Therefore, we do not present ‘proofs’ in the traditional sense.  You can expect only the highest quality of imagery from Tomas Flint Photographers.

Q:  Will we get a DVD of the images?
A:  Yes, we do provide a DVD to all of our clients.  Delivery time is generally 6 months from the wedding day but may vary according to arrangements made by the studio and client.

Q:  Will I get a wedding album?
A:  We don’t much like the word ‘album’ around here.  Instead we offer artBooks in our a la carte menu.  The concept surrounding our Signature artBook series is to treat your wedding day imagery with the due respect of any piece of fine art.  We approach each project as a unique entity and consider the personal attributes that made your day the only one of its kind.  We wish for these books to possess a deep  sense of purpose, meaning, respect, and heritage, as they will serve as an heirloom in your family’s history.  To accomplish this, we have enlisted some pretty clever bookmakers and even created a position within the studio – the client fulfillment specialist – whose roll is to ensure that the artBook creation process is simple, informative, exciting and fun.  Alison Tyne is her name and you can reach her at: atyne(at)flintweddings.com or through our connect section here.

Q:  Who designs my wedding album?
A:  It is a collaborative effort.  We begin with a concept and present it to you.  From there we work together in creating your masterpiece.  With the help of our Client Fulfillment Specialist Alison Tyne, you are sure to enjoy the process and ultimately end up with products that you absolutely love :)

Q:  How many pictures do I get from my wedding?
A:  You get as many pictures it takes to thoroughly and thoughtfully tell your story.  Generally, this ranges from 500 – 800 images…but is not confined to that.

Q:  What type of turn-around time should I expect?
A:  Generally speaking, you can expect the online posting of your Wedding Gallery 4 – 6 weeks following event conclusion.  This can fluctuate in either direction due to a host of variables, but rest assured that we make every effort to deliver the finest products in as quick a turnaround time as possible.

Q:  Do I get a proof book with my wedding experience?
A:  Yes, though it is not just a proof book.   It is a spiral bound deluxe first edition print magazine.  They are sturdy and vibrant and provide a great reference when trying to decide on images you wish to use for fine art prints or inclusion in your signature artBook.

Q:  How do I talk to you about anything not included in this section?
A:  Call or email us.  We are always available to answer questions and field concerns. Please visit our contact page for information.
